      • 12:00 -- 3:00 PM
      • The Sierra Club is joining hundreds of other organizations around the globe pressing for a meaningful International Climate Treaty at the U.N. Climate Conference in Copenhagen in December. We need to demonstrate to local, national and world leaders the urgency of reducing atmospheric carbon concentrations to 350 parts per million, so we and our children can enjoy a sustainable future on this planet.
      • Our vision for this event is to have 350 Albuquerque area students and concerned adults complete the sentence:
      • "Our climate is our future because..."
      • The Rules are simple, and your Climate Action can be taken in just minutes!:
        • 1. Writers submit their name, age and city, with a completion of this sentence of 140 characters or less (including spaces...same length as a "tweet").
        • 2. Email to centralnmsierraclub@gmail.com
        • 3. Of course, the statements should be sincere and can't be obscene or offensive (to us).
      • The first 350 statements that we receive following these rules will be read aloud at our event on October 24th outside the Albuquerque BioPark (2601 Central Ave. NW at the intersection of Central and New York Avenues just east of the Central Ave. bridge), with the encouragement and participation of as many Sierra Club members and state and local elected officials as we can muster. It should be a great day of fun and community action for our planet, our kids, and their future!
      • Please encourage interested young people to submit their messages--with their name, age, and city--as soon as possible to centralnmsierraclub@gmail.com.
      • Send your own message, and come out to the BioPark on October 24th to support our Call to Action!
