Sending Forth: Dinner and Blessing the Pilgrims

Join New Mexico Interfaith Power & Light and the pilgrims at the United Methodist Church in Carlsbad for a special evening of prayer, conversation, and a shared meal as we prepare to launch their 320-mile journey. We will conclude with a formal Blessing of the Pilgrims before they begin their walk the following morning.

The Final Miles: Join the Pilgrimage and
Walk the Rail Trail to the State Capitol

Meet the three pilgrims at the Rabbit Road Rail Trail parking lot south of Santa Fe to walk the final 5.4 miles to the State Capitol. We will proceed to The Open Circle church for a Welcome Ceremony, stopping briefly at the Railyard Park to meet other joining walkers. From the church, we will continue to the Roundhouse for Climate Action Day activities starting at noon.

The Last Mile: Join the Pilgrimage and Walk
from the Railyard Park to the State Capitol

Thursday, February 5, 2026 · 10:30am - 1:00pm
Meet us at the water tank in the Santa Railyard Plaza to join the pilgrims and other walkers who have walked the Rail Trail. This short, approximately 0.7-mile walk will take about 20 minutes and brings the procession to The Open Circle church, where the Welcome Ceremony awaits before we move on to the State Capitol.

Welcome Ceremony

Thursday, February 5 · 11:00am - 1:00pm
Join us at The Open Circle Church (just 4 blocks from the Capitol) to officially welcome the pilgrims after their 320-mile walk. This event will feature refreshments, a ritual of welcome, and a time for prayer. Immediately following, we will all make the short walk to the Roundhouse to participate in Climate Action Day events.
